Stole Shibori Iris
Stole Shibori Iris
Tangled weaved banshu-ori stole is tied-dyed by a shibori craftsman in Kyoto. An iris flower is undyed as the stole get dyed into a cool soothing blue. We then embroidered the center of the blooming flower.
Banshu-Ori is manufactured for over 200 years in Japan. Dyeing the yarn before weaving is what gives this fine cotton fabric a smooth airy texture. Nowadays there are many weaving techniques to create beautiful patterns of high quality cotton.
Banshu is an area in Nishiwaki city, Hyogo prefecture. "Ori" means weaving.
